Minister Counsellor Zhou Xiaoming visits BRL

Bristol Robotics Laboratory was delighted to welcome Mr Zhou Ziaoming, Minister Counsellor of the Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in London and his colleagues, First Secretary, Mrs Guiyun, Second Secretary, Mrs Hu Guolei and Third Secretary, Mr Xu Hongri to BRL on 11th February 2014.

They were accompanied by Carina Smith, Assistant Director, Regional Programmes, China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), and Antoaneta Becker, South West China Business Adviser, CBBC. The Minister and his team were visiting the West of England to explore inward investment opportunities. They also met local businesses, council officials and experts from the Bristol China Partnership, West of England China Bureau and Invest in Bristol & Bath.

  • BRL covers an area of approximately 4,600 sqm
  • BRL consists of thirty three Research Bays each covers an area of approximately 25 sqm
  • All six BRL Laboratories comply to Containment Level 2 (CL2) standard and cover an area of approximately 335 sqm
  • BRL facilities include two Flying Arenas. The Large Flying Arena covers an area of 182 sqm and the Small an area of 106 sqm.
  • The Large Flying Arena is equipped with an Infrared Motion Tracking System and an overhead camera
